In the book of Rev: 21:2 John the revelator says (and I John saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. The key word in this verse is prepared, Webster dictionary defines the word prepared as to make ready, or to get ready beforehand I do not believe that the New Jerusalem came all way down from heaven to get ready, there is no one down here qualified to do that job. The New Jerusalem was already ready when it got here. So who did the New Jerusalem come to prepare Eph. 5:27 says (that he might present it to himself a glorious church not having spot or wrinkle, or any such thing, but that it should be holy without blemish. Jesus will come back for his church and will call it to the marriage supper of the lamb. The New Jerusalem is coming down to assist the bride in her preparation. Rev. 21:2 says the New Jerusalem is prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. Webster defines the word as, as meaning in the same way as a bride is made ready or adorned for her husband. My wife and I were blessed to exchange wedding vows in the Virgin Islands. On the day of the wedding my wife was dressed in a beautiful wedding gown that had no spots or winkles. She was blessed to be accompanied by one of her close friends who assisted her in her preparation to make sure she was properly adorned in her wedding gown. The New Jerusalem is come down to assist the bride of Christ in her preparation for the marriage supper of the lamb. In time past I must confess my understanding of the New Jerusalem was limited to a city where we would drink milk eat honey and walk on golden streets. Although this would be a blessing the New Jerusalem is much more than that it is come down to assist the bride in her preparation. So there is an unmistakable connection between the New Jerusalem and the bride in the book of 1 Cor. 15:46 says (how be it that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural, and after that which is spiritual. Perhaps we can better understand the connection, by taking a look at our genetic makeup or our DNA. DNA is the hereditary material in all human beings. Our DNA is inherited from our parents, half from our mother and half from our father. We can be identified by matching our DNA with our parents, 99.9 of our DNA matches our parents. Only 1% of your DNA belongs to you, and that’s what makes you, you and them, them. Even though you share the same DNA you are not your father or mother you are you. So we can see the connection of the New Jerusalem and the bride in fact they are so related that John spoke of them both in the same present tense. So in the same manner we can be identified by matching our terrestrial, which means earthly DNA with our parents so can the bride of Christ be identified by matching its celestial, which means heavenly DNA with the New Jerusalem, Paul spoke of this in 1 Cor. 15:40 (There are celestial bodies an bodies terrestrial but the glory of the celestial is one and the glory of the terrestrial is another. In the book of (St. Luke 24 36:37) the disciples were gathered together and as they thus spake, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them and said unto them peace be unto you but they were terrified and affrighted and supposed that they had seen a spirit. Jesus did not come through the door but he just appeared. He asked the disciples did they have anything to eat and they gave him a piece of boiled fish, and of an honeycomb. And he took it and did eat before them. And he shewed them his hands and his feet. All these things Jesus did in the midst of his disciples as an example of the celestial transformation the bride must enter into in the last days. Paul referred to it as a mystery. The human body is made up of billions of cells, each cell has its own job. Some cells help us see others help us digest food, hear, touch, and carry oxygen. So how do cells know what job to do. In the same manner as we know what to do, someone tells us. The cells follow a DNA record of instructions telling them what to do, a set of blueprints. Within the new Jerusalem is a set of instructions for the elect. The redeemed to follow in order to make the bride Rev 19:7. So where in the Bible does it say that within the new Jerusalem is a set of instructions: Rev 21:2(And I John saw the Holy City new Jerusalem coming down from God out of heaven Prepared, Prepared means more than to make ready it also means the action of laying down rules or directions. So if I am laying down rules and directions I am certainly giving out instructions. For an example before I could go on the air here at WYZE I had to be prepared, I was given instructions by the management on the rules and regulations of this station. So it is with the new Jerusalem and the bride. One thing we must never forget that Jesus Christ is Lord even of the Sabbath day Matt 12:8 Jesus is Lord over the new Jerusalem, the new Jerusalem did not die for us, Jesus died for us, and without him there is no connection.
